Jamie Warren

Freelance Professional Drummer/Drum Tutor

ABOUT

I have been playing drums since the age of 13. I started taking lessons in school and progressed on to achieving 'Grade 8' for the drum kit.

To pursue further a career in the music, I attended the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM), Guildford to expand my skill, technique, and performance ability. Here I was able to study under top UK tutors such as Pete Riley (Guthrie Govan/Keith Emerson), Paul Elliott (Independent), Mike Sturgis (Wishbone Ash), Dan Foord (Sikth), Joe Yoshida (Katie Melua/Toseland) and many more.

Since ACM, I have played with numerous bands/artists and have been extensively touring the UK playing venues, functions and festivals. Performing alongside: Years & Years, Wolf Alice, Turin Brakes, Dry the River, Jahmene Douglas and many more.  Some noteable gigs include playing at the Olympic Park during the London 2012 Olympic Games and Glastonbury Festival.

I have recorded with legendary drummer/producer Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds/Grinderman) at EMI records, and have credits with artists signed to Warner/Chappell Music.

In the summer of 2014, I traveled to Germany to study with world renowned drummer and educator Benny Greb.

My drumming has featured on International television in US drama series "666 Park Avenue" (ABC Network), and also featured in the American independent film "The Lookalike" released in November 2014.

In September 2014, I became a member of a music co-operative as a drum tutor and currently teach in numerous local primary and secondary schools.

I upload drum covers/remixes on YouTube and currently have 14,000 subscribers and over 2.5 million hits across all of my videos. The videos have been supported by world famous drummers such as Matt Helders (Arctic Monkeys/Iggy Pop), Benny Greb (Independent/Moving Parts), Mike Johnston (Independent/Online drum educator) and Davey Latter (Arctic Monkeys live percussionist/drum tech).
